Duluth has reached yet another warm-weather milestone for 2012.

The high temperature on Sunday was 79 degrees, making it the 106th day this year that temperatures have reached at least 70 degrees, the National Weather Service reported.

That ties the mark, first set in 1955, for most days at or above 70 degrees in a calendar year.

The summer of 2012 -- June, July and August -- was the warmest on record for Duluth.

There won't be much warmth in the Northland today, though. In the wake of a cold front, highs are forecast to remain in the 50s today and Tuesday across the region. There's a chance for frost tonight as temperatures may fall into the 20s and low 30s in many areas away from Lake Superior.
