Rick Rickert isn't the only Duluth high school athlete who is signing a letter of intent to attend a major college this week.
In fact, he's not even the only athlete from Duluth East to sign.
Jodi Baumgarth and Lauren Baker, a pair of East seniors, signed national letters of intent this week to attend the University of Cincinatti, where they will row for the Bearcats.
The duo turned down rowing offers from the University of Minnesota, Ohio State University and the University of Louisville.
"They are the highest profile Duluthian (recruits) in the modern era," said their Duluth Crew coach Brent Figg, a Bearcat rower himself, who had a hand in the school's recruiting. "And Cincinatti is a good program. They've won two national championships in the last 10 years and had an Olympian."
