Duluth police release more physical details of Congdon Park home invaders

Duluth Police have released more details on the physical appearance of two suspects who in-vaded a home in the 3400 block of East First Street Thursday morning.

Duluth Police have released more details on the physical appearance of two suspects who in-vaded a home in the 3400 block of East First Street Thursday morning.

While in the house, the pair, both armed with handguns, bound the wrists of the mother and son who were home and searched the home for valuables.

Neither victim was harmed, although they were "shook up," Duluth Deputy Police Chief John Beyer said this afternoon.

According to information released this morning by police, the first suspect is a white man, wear-ing a hooded sweatshirt, turtleneck or bandanna pulled up to cover the face, and sunglasses. He's tall, thin, in his late teens to early 20's, with a fresh cut to his hand or arm.

The second suspect is also a white male in his late teens to early 20's, wearing a hooded sweat-shirt, turtleneck pulled up to cover the face, and sunglasses. He's tall and thin, with brown wavy or curly hair.

Police believe that the first suspect's fresh cut happened when he entered the house.

"We recovered some blood from the scene," Beyer said.

While the invasion has some city residents concerned, Beyer said "This wasn't a random event."

"They went to this house," he said. "We believe they had information about what items they might find there. These people had a specific purpose."

Police are basing that assessment on things the victims heard during the incident. Police are not saying whether the suspects took any items from the house.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Duluth Police Department Violent Crimes Unit at (218) 730-5050.
