The Duluth Police Department is reminding motorists to plan for road closures and traffic delays caused by this weekend's Grandma's races.
On Friday:
Canal Park Drive from Railroad Street to Buchanan Street will close at 2 p.m. for Grandma's finish line set up. The road will remain closed to automobile traffic until after Grandma's Marathon finishes on Saturday.
Harbor Drive behind the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center will close to traffic starting at 3 p.m. for the William A. Irvin 5K race. Railroad Street from Harbor Drive to Garfield Avenue will close at 5:40 p.m. The roads should reopen by approximately 7:30 p.m. Parking will not be allowed on Railroad Street or Harbor Drive.
On Saturday:

Northbound I-35 will close at 6:15 a.m. from Mesaba Avenue to 26th Avenue East. Southbound I-35 from 21st and 26th Avenues East will close at 1 a.m.
Scenic Highway 61 between Duluth and Two Harbors and Lakewood, Homestead, Ryan, and McQuade roads between Minnesota Highway 61 and the scenic highway will all close at 4:30 a.m.
London Road will close at 6:15 a.m.
Superior Street from 12th Avenue East to 5th Avenue West will close at 6:15 a.m.
Harbor Drive, Commerce Street, Lake Place Drive and Canal Park will close at 6:30 a.m.
The roads closed for the marathon will reopen at approximately 2 p.m.
Parking is not allowed on the race course. In the Canal Park area parking is encouraged at the DECC lot. Access to the DECC parking lot will be from Railroad Street.
Traffic to and from Park Point will encounter long delays both Friday evening and Saturday. During Saturday's Marathon, the only way motorists will be able to reach Park Point and the Canal Park area will be from 5th Avenue West to Railroad Street or Garfield Avenue to Railroad Street.
