Duluth photo show focuses on Northern Exposures

A show of Layne Kennedy's photos opens Friday and runs through July 28 at Waters of Superior Gallery in Canal Park at 395 S. Lake Ave. The Minneapolis photographer has shot work all over the world, but this collection -- "Northern Exposure" -- is of images from Iceland, Finland and Greenland. Kennedy has worked for National Geographic and Smithsonian magazines, among many others, and he also sometimes teaches at North House Folk School in Grand Marais. Besides the geysers and icebergs, the scenery and the light, come and see what the lives of our northern brethren look like. Kennedy will be Waters' featured artist for the Gallery Stroll from 4-7 p.m. on July 3. Call 786-0233.
