Welcome to the new duluthnewstribune.com.

No, you haven’t stumbled onto another website by accident. Today we’re relaunching our website with a new design better able to serve the needs of our readers and advertisers.

It’s different and we expect it’ll take some getting used to. There may be some bugs and rough patches to fix on our end, and we’ll appreciate your patience if those occur. But among other benefits, this new design in the long run will better serve the many ways our readers view the website, whether it be on a smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. Unlike our old design, the new site will intuitively adapt to the device being used.

That’s becoming increasingly important as more of our online traffic comes from phones and tablets. Mobile devices accounted for nearly 40 percent of our page views in the past month, up from 30 percent a year ago. That growth is going to continue, and this new design will position us to better serve those readers.

The new design also allows for better display of photos and videos, and once you get used to the new look you should find it easier to navigate and find the stories and features you’re looking for.

So we hope you’ll take some time to look around and see how things have changed. If you see a glitch or can’t find something you’re looking for, send us an e-mail at web@duluthnews.com . We’ll do our best to answer your questions as quickly and completely as we can. And again, we appreciate your patience as we also continue to get used to working with this new design.

The Duluth News Tribune and duluthnewstribune.com both are owned by Forum Communications Co., a multimedia information company based in Fargo. Forum Communications Co. owns dozens of newspapers, websites and television and radio stations in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
