Duluth mayor Emily Larson and the Northland AmeriCorps Collaborative will hold a virtual meeting Tuesday to recognize "significant contributions of engaged citizens," according to a news release from the city of Duluth.
The annual meeting, part of National Service Recognition Day, typically takes place at City Hall, but this year it will be held as a Zoom videoconference due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will highlight the efforts of those who served with Reading and Math Corps, Inc., True North AmeriCorps, Ecolibrium3, AmeriCorps VISTA, Minnesota GreenCorps, Northern Bedrock Historic Preservation Corps, Minnesota Conservation Corps and Senior Corps.
The public is invited to attend the meeting on zoom.us at ID number 260 728 556. Those without a computer can dial in at 1-312-626-6799. The event takes place from 1-2 p.m.
“AmeriCorps members provide a huge service to the Duluth community every year,” Larson said in a statement. “Many nonprofits rely on these members to play crucial roles in their organizations. I really look forward to hearing from all of the members and celebrating their accomplishments at this event.”
