It's not unusual for spouses not to see eye-to-eye on politics, but in some cases the differences are more public than others.
Laura Ness, wife of Duluth Mayor Don Ness, attended a noon event at the Duluth Federation of Teachers offices supporting the presidential campaign of U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Don Ness announced earlier this month that he will serve as co-chairman of Sen. Barack Obama's Minnesota campaign in his run for president.
Laura Ness was not among several speakers touting Clinton's campaign today.
"I can't help but support Hillary," she said after the event, which about 25 people attended. "She's so bright."

Laura Ness didn't directly say if her and her husband's choices for president are causing any friction in the family. She said they are excited to have two good candidates running for the Democrats.
"It's like a dream come true of any Democrat," she said.
Mayor Ness couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
Today's event was part of a series of appearances by Clinton supporters in preparation for Super Tuesday on Feb. 5, where 22 states will hold presidential primaries or caucuses. Former Sen. Mark Dayton appeared at the noon event, conclud-ing a two-day, six-city swing through Minnesota in support of Clinton.
"Our goal for Hillary on Feb. 5 here in Duluth is to come in the same position - number one - as the Minnesota Duluth (women's) hockey team will come in," he said.
Minnesota Duluth women's head hockey coach Shannon Miller attended today's event and spoke for Clinton.
"We're having a winning season this year, and so is Hillary Clinton," she said. "I support Hillary Clinton for president because she is a strong leader with a clear vision."
Others speaking on Clinton's behalf were state Sen. Yvonne Prettner-Solon, DFL-Duluth; St. Louis County Commissioner Peg Sweeney; and Bill Cortes, director of the Duluth DFL.
