Two people who allegedly burglarized a Duluth apartment Monday each were charged with two counts today in district court.
Christopher Forest Cook, 34, of Duluth, and Dawnis Marie Bosto, 28, of Cloquet, each were charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal damage to property. Bail was set at $8,000 each.
According to Duluth police, officers responded to the 300 block of North Fourth Avenue West at 2:35 p.m. Monday after a caller reported seeing a man and woman enter the apartment building, hearing what sounded like a door being forced open, and then seeing the two leave carrying a flat-screen TV. The caller found the neighbor's apartment door kicked in and called 911.
With a description of the two suspects, officers found them nearby. The TV was found at a nearby address.
Police said the incident, along with two others, show the importance of citizens who reported suspicious behavior. With information from citizens, Duluth officers have, over the past several days, arrested two suspects for prowling vehicles, and Cook and Bosto for the burglary.
