A 38-year-old Duluth man appeared in St. Louis County District Court on Wednesday on charges that he sexually assaulted two preteen girls in incidents about 15 years apart.
Cesar Augusto Giron is charged with three counts of attempted first-degree criminal sexual conduct, three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and indecent exposure.
According to the two criminal complaints filed against Giron, he denied assaulting the girls.
One preteen girl told a Duluth police investigator that Giron sexually assaulted her in 2007. The girl's mother had tucked her into bed and cautioned her about some inappropriate touching that had been going on at a Duluth swimming pool earlier that day. The girl asked for a piece of paper and wrote down the word "Cesar.''
During an interview at the First Witness Child Abuse Resource Center, the girl described how Giron allegedly assaulted her. The girl's mother told the investigator that she knew of another

victim who had been assaulted by Giron and who had never told police because she feared him.
The investigator located the woman, who said she was 8 or 9 years old when Giron sexually assaulted her in about 1992.
Giron is free on a $50,000 bond and is under supervision by an Arrowhead Regional Corrections officer. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 27.
