A Duluth man convicted of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy eight years ago was charged today in St. Louis County District Court with sexually assaulting two other boys under the age of 16.

Timothy Scott Alan Davich, 40, is accused of six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct -- Minnesota's most serious sex crime -- and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Duluth police officers from the Crimes Against Persons division interviewed the boys when the alleged crimes were reported on Monday. Investigator Bob Carter did a background investigation of Davich and learned that he was convicted in 2002 of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

As a result of that conviction, Davich received a one-year sentence at Northeast Regional Corrections Center that was stayed for two years probation. He was ordered to undergo sex offender treatment, according to court records,

Davich was being held today in the St. Louis County Jail on $75,000 bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 25.
