A 50-year-old Duluth man was arrested last week after a nine-month investigation into his alleged heroin trafficking, authorities said.

Cedric Bester was arrested July 25 by members of the Lake Superior Drug and Gang Task Force and Duluth Police Department after a search warrant executed at Bester's home on the 1200 block of East Fourth Street revealed heroin and a loaded gun, police said.

Bester has been charged with first-degree sale of a controlled substance (heroin), first-degree possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and felon in possession of a firearm.

During the investigation, authorities came to believe Bester was receiving stolen property in exchange for heroin. They executed another search warrant at Bester's residence on July 26 and recovered several items including computers and flat-screen televisions believed to be stolen. The investigation continues.

Bester's criminal record in St. Louis County goes back to 1996 and includes controlled substance convictions, authorities said.
