A 67-year-old Duluth man was charged with felony operating while intoxicated Monday in Douglas County District Court in Superior. Police say it is his fourth OWI offense. He also has a 2010 driving while intoxicated conviction in Minnesota.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said a trooper arrested Michael Wayne Brodie just before 10 p.m. Sunday night, after he made an illegal left turn in Superior. Brodie has more than two dozen court cases in Minnesota going back to 1995, including arrests for drinking in public, theft and assault.
In Wisconsin, a fourth OWI is automatically considered a felony and comes with high fines and insurance requirements, ignition interlock devices, as well as mandatory jail sentences.
