Duluth man arrested in connection with stabbing

A 45-year-old Duluth man was taken into custody early Saturday in connection with the stabbing of his girlfriend in the apartment they shared at the Seaway Hotel in Duluth.

A 45-year-old Duluth man was taken into custody early Saturday in connection with the stabbing of his girlfriend in the apartment they shared at the Seaway Hotel in Duluth.

Police were called to the hotel, at 2001 W. Superior St. in Duluth's Lincoln Park neighborhood, shortly after 4 a.m. on the reported stabbing of a 38-year-old woman.

According to Duluth police, the woman, who had been stabbed in the back, told officers her boyfriend had stabbed her when she was trying to leave their apartment. He was located in the apartment and arrested without incident and booked at St. Louis County Jail.

The woman was treated for a punctured lung at a local

hospital, an injury that was not life-threatening, police said.

The suspect faces possible charges of second-degree assault and fifth-degree domestic assault.
