Are you looking for something good to read? When you join one of the Duluth Public Library's Online Book Clubs, you'll receive a portion of interesting and popular recent books in your daily e-mail. Each e-mail will be about five minutes worth of reading. By the end of the week, you'll have received two to three chapters of the book, and every Monday a new book will start. This offers a way to sample a variety of books.
There are several different Book Clubs to choose from: the Original Online Book Club (mostly nonfiction), Fiction, Mystery, SciFi/Horror, Pre-Pub (get a sneak preview of books not yet published), Business Books, Audio Books (you'll hear books read aloud using RealPlayer), Good News ("books you can take home to Mom") and a book club just for teens.
At the bottom of the e-mails readers will find a link to the library catalog, where they can place a hold on the book if they would like to finish reading it.
It's easy to join. Go to the library's Web site at http://www.duluth.lib.mn.us and click on "For Readers." Look for the Online Book Club logo. Send your e-mail address and receive your first daily read the next day. The Online Book Clubs are sponsored by the city of Duluth and the Friends of the Duluth Public Library.
