Duluth hosts bluegrass festival

The Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association (MBOTMA) will once again host its Cabin Fever Festival in Duluth, Friday through Sunday, March 20-22 at the Inn on Lake Superior.

The Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association (MBOTMA) will once again host its Cabin Fever Festival in Duluth, Friday through Sunday, March 20-22 at the Inn on Lake Superior.

The festival begins on Friday evening at 6 p.m. with "Friday Night Live," an evening of onstage open-mic plus a set from both The Walker/Stargel Band and The Good Intentions. On Saturday there will be workshops starting at 10 a.m., a draw-band competition starting at 2 p.m. and stage shows.

The weekend highlight will be the Saturday night concert starting at 7 p.m. The festival will finish Sunday morning with gospel music from Porcupine Creek starting at 10 a.m. followed by a gospel jam session at 11 a.m.

A weekend festival ticket is $29 in advance and $35 at the door on Friday. Single-day admission at the door is $15 on Friday and $20 on Saturday. Admission for students and teens is half-price and kids age 12 and under are free.
