A Duluth firefighter allegedly involved in an assault Friday has been placed on administrative leave.
Conrad Sunde was placed on paid administrative leave Monday pending the results of an internal investigation, according to a statement from Duluth Fire Chief Shawn Krizaj.
“As this is a personnel matter, I am not able to provide any further comments at this time," the statement from Krizaj continued.
Sunde was arrested for fifth-degree assault following an altercation with a 65-year-old woman on the Duluth Traverse Trail System early in the morning Friday. The woman sustained non-life-threatening facial injuries after asking a man on his bike to leash his three dogs, according to a news release from the Duluth Police Department.
