The Duluth East Bantam A team is heading into regionals and VFW regionals with success. The team includes fifteen freshman currently attending East High School, including some of their top players such as Connor Valesano, Alex Toscano, Ryan Lundgren and Meirs Moore.
The Bantam A team has had an incredibly successful season.They have defeated top teams such Edina, Wayzata, Eden Prairie and Minnetoka. On Tuesday February 23, 2010 the boys faced Hermantown for the district championship, and took it home with a 3-1 win. They are currently ranked as the number one Bantam A team in the state of Minnesota and are looking towards a state championship this season, to make up for the 3rd place they received in the state tournament last year.
Freshman Connor Valesano is one of the teams leading scorers. "I think we have a good team. We are trying to make it to state and go as far as we can," said Valesano.
The boys will move into the Regional VFW tournament this weekend and we move into the regular regionals within the next two weeks.
