The next city-wide meeting on crime prevention will be held on Thursday Jan. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Church at 2430 W. Third St. This month we will be featuring community officer Shawn McGovern speaking on "Crime-Free Multi-Family Housing and the new Nuisance Ordinance." This presentation will be of benefit to home-owners, landlords, renters and business owners.
This is the 15th in the series of Crime Prevention meetings which began as the vision of neighborhood leaders from across the City in October 2006. As the meetings have grown they have now had participants from 35 neighborhoods across Duluth and the surrounding areas. The meetings are sponsored by NHS Duluth, CHUM and Duluth LISC, part of the At Home in Duluth Collaborative, with special thanks to the Duluth Police Department and Holy Family Church.
