A Duluth Airshow replacement has been found for the Czech fighter jet that crash-landed in Eden Prairie earlier this month.
Airshow President Ryan Kern said the show will now feature a replacement MiG-21 found by the pilot of the jet that crashed July 12 outside of Minneapolis.
William Ward survived the crash caused by the failure of the drag chute to deploy on landing. The jet overshot the runway and was a total loss.
Kern felt the hole in his show as the Sept. 22-23 event nears with its global theme featuring planes from across the world.
"We are beyond excited that we have a replacement MiG-21 that will join us keeping our 'International' theme in place with Russian, Czech, Canadian and American aircraft all participating and flying in this year's event," Kern said in a statement.
