Like the bulk of its Northland brethren, Amnicon Falls State Park's waterfalls come alive during the spring months.

Right now the park, which is located approximately five minutes east of Superior's city limits, features some of the most awe-inspiring spring thaw "waterworks" imaginable.

To get to Amnicon, take U.S. Highway 2/53 southeast out of Superior. From the junction of highways 2 and 53, take U.S. 2 about a mile east to County Highway U. Turn left (north) on Highway U and go about .3 miles. The park entrance is on your left. (For more information on this park or Wisconsin State Park pass rates, visit http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/parks/specific/amnicon .)

These pictures are just a taste. Once you step out of your vehicle, you'll realize how worthwhile the trip to Amnicon really is.
