Diane M. Podlogar letter: War protesters deserve accolades

I must applaud the two brave war protesters who tried to get Vice President Dick Cheney's attention during his recent visit to Minnesota ("Two arrested in Cheney protest," June 28).

Robert Heberle, 71, of St. Anthony, Minn., and Roger Cuthbertson, 67, of Shorewood, Minn., were very lucky to just be cited for creating a public nuisance. Cheney has been known to shoot men their age.

As far as I'm concerned, the police arrested the wrong men. They should have jailed Cheney and his band of thieves.

I say end the Iraq war now and charge the Bush administration with crimes against humanity.
