Local legislators were poised to ride a wave of DFL victories Tuesday night.
Rep. Tom Bakk said seven Northlanders could assume top party or committee leadership posts.
In Duluth's most contested race, DFL Rep. Tom Huntley coasted to victory over Republican challenger Becky Hall in House District 7A.
"It's a great night for Democrats," he said.
