A driver crashed and fled from police early Monday morning in Hermantown, the Hermantown Police Department said in a news release Monday afternoon.
Police were attempting to perform a traffic stop for suspected impaired driving near the intersection of Haines Road and Morris Thomas Road at 2:41 a.m. Monday, when the driver allegedly ignored signs to stop and fled south down Haines Road at high speeds. Police said about 45 seconds later, the vehicle was turning onto Skyline Parkway in Duluth when it crashed into a retaining wall.
The driver, who police said fled on foot, had not been located by law enforcement as of Monday evening. Two passengers were transported to the hospital with what authorities described as non-life-threatening injuries
Hermantown police continue to investigate the incident.
