An event paying tribute to Duluth K-9 Luna, a police dog killed in the line of duty Thursday night, and intended to show support for her partner, Officer Aaron Haller, will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The Northland K-9 Foundation has requested that people line the route that will be used to transport Luna's body from the BluePearl Emergency Pet Hospital, 2314 Michigan St., to Fur-Ever Loved Pet Cremation Services in Scanlon.

The procession will travel west on Michigan Street, take a jog on Carlton Street and then head west on Grand Avenue to Cody Street then south on U.S. Interstate 35 to Scanlon.

The man who shot and killed K-9 Luna was later killed himself Friday afternoon after a 20-hour armed standoff.
