Approximately 2.2 pounds of suspected cocaine was recovered from a residence on the 400 block of Eighth Street in Cloquet on Jan. 11. The Cloquet Police Department received a tip from the Drug Enforcement Administration that a package containing suspected cocaine would be delivered to a home in Cloquet, according to a news release from the department.

The CPD worked with the DEA, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, Minneapolis Airport Police, Carlton County Sheriff's Office and the Fond du Lac Police Department to investigate and execute a search warrant at the home.

During the warrant execution, a woman was seen entering a vehicle with the suspected package. Officers stopped the vehicle before it left the property and seized the package. A field test on the substance tested positive for cocaine. The estimated street value for the 2.2 pound package is approximately $29,000.

A 40-year-old Duluth woman was taken in custody in connection with the investigation but she has not been formally charged at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
