Duluth police have arrested two people for their suspected connection in Tuesday's Central Hillside shooting that left one person in critical condition.

Officers arrested Alexia Gah Gi Gay Mary Cutbank, 19, and Seneca Warrior Steeprock, 39, Thursday evening in the 600 block of West Superior Street and they are now housed at the St. Louis County Jail, according to the Duluth Police Department.

Both were arrested on preliminary charges of attempted second-degree murder. Cutbank was also arrested on preliminary charges of ineligible possession of a weapon and first-degree assault, while Steeprock also faces potential charges of aiding and abetting first-degree assaults, aiding an offender to avoid arrest and fleeing a police officer.

Tuesday's shooting took place at the intersection of Lake Avenue and West Fourth Street around 2:40 p.m. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital. Police have not released the identity of the victim, who remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The police department's Violent Crimes Unit continues to investigate the shooting.

"We have determined it was not random and there is no danger to the public," read a news release from the police.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call 218-730-5050. Duluth police are also seeking any footage from cameras facing the intersection of Lake Avenue and West Fourth Street between 2-2:45 p.m. Tuesday.
