MANDAN, N.D. — A Mandan, N.D., police officer has been fired from his job after being accused of recording a minor taking showers.
Morton County prosecutors charged Scott Michael Warzecha, 45, of Mandan, on Wednesday, Nov. 18, with a Class A felony of using a minor in a sexual performance and two Class C felonies of surreptitious intrusion.
Warzecha has not yet appeared in court on the charges, but he was booked Wednesday into the McLean County Jail in Washburn, N.D.
Court documents allege Warzecha placed a phone in a bathroom exhaust fan. And the minor, who's under the age of 18, discovered the phone and found video showing them undressing and getting into the shower on Saturday, Nov. 14, the complaint said. Investigators discovered a similar video recorded in October, according to the complaint.
The Mandan Police Department announced Wednesday it had fired Warzecha because of the charges. He had been on administrative leave as of Saturday, according to a news release.
