A suspect involved in a Friday afternoon shooting in the Central Hillside was arrested after a vehicle pursuit.

According to a news release, police received a report of shooting near Harbor Highlands at 11:53 a.m. Friday. Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old male who sustained what appeared to be two gunshot wounds.

The male was transported to a Duluth hospital to receive treatment for injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening, according to police.

After receiving information about the suspect vehicle, a Superior police officer recognized the vehicle entering Superior from the Bong Bridge.

The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver fled from the officer and led them on a pursuit for nearly two miles. The driver crashed into a water holding pond near Billings Park and was then arrested, the release says.
