A Twin Ports radio personality was arrested Saturday.
Kenneth Kalligher, 61, of Duluth, was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault and pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.
According to court documents, a female victim known to Kalligher told police they were arguing when he struck her in the right temple, causing her to "see stars" and fall to the ground. She told police she believes she was knocked unconscious, and the next thing she remembered was waking up on the floor, court documents said.
Kalligher is a producer and on-air personality at KDAL radio. He is currently the host of "Midday Live," which airs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays. He was also a producer and co-host of "The Average Guys" PACT-TV show. Kalligher has been off the air since the incident but is expected to return Thursday, according to Midwest Communications brand manager Tom Roubik.
Kalligher's next court appearance is scheduled for May 23 at 1:15 p.m. He was released from jail on his own recognizance Tuesday. Kalligher was denied a public defender.
