16-year-old arrested in East Hillside shooting
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested for a shooting in the East Hillside neighborhood earlier this month that left an 18-year-old man injured, the Duluth Police Department announced Monday.
On Feb. 1, the Duluth Police Department found the shooting victim as they responded to a car crash with injuries at the intersection of 10th Avenue East and Third Street. Occupants of one of the vehicles told officers the rear-seat passenger had been shot prior to the crash and they were taking him to a hospital, a news release said.
At the time, police said they believed shooter and victim were known to each other.
The 16-year-old suspect was arrested on Friday without incident, police said, and he is being held at the Arrowhead Juvenile Detention Center.
Formal charges by the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Division have not yet been filed, police said.
