WILLMAR, Minn. – Kandiyohi County Attorney Shane Baker said he intends to file charges Thursday morning in the homicide of David Medellin Jr. of Willmar.

Two suspects are in custody and being held on suspicion of second-degree murder and second-degree murder – liability for crimes of another.

They were taken into custody on Monday, but their identities are not being reported pending the filing of formal charges. A 35-year-old man with a Kerkhoven address as of 2017 and a 51-year-old woman with a Brooten address are being held in the case.

Little additional information about the suspects or Medellin’s death will be available until after their court appearances.
