Much of Duluth’s Lakeside neighborhood was without water from Friday night through early Saturday afternoon, after utility crews shut off service to locate and repair a large water main leak, city officials said.
The outage affected more than 1,000 customers in the upper Lakeside neighborhood, above Glenwood Street.
Crews worked overnight to locate the leak, and then worked through the morning hours to repair the problem.
Once the water service was restored, officials advised affected residents to “run your tap for several minutes to clear the lines. The water may look milky but that is due to tiny air bubbles being trapped in the pipes from the repairs. The water is safe to drink.”
