The St. Louis County Attorney's Office has completed its review of the case file of the death of Cherry man shot and killed by a Minnesota state trooper.
Representatives from the Attorney's Office will announce their findings at a 9 a.m. news conference Thursday in Virginia in the case of Ronald Hannuksela, 50, who was shoot and killed in his vehicle in Eveleth after being stopped by the trooper on Nov. 28.
Hannuksela was killed by multiple shots fired by State Trooper Bryan Carey through a window of Hannuksela's vehicle. Authorities said Carey opened fire after Hannuksela brandished a .32-caliber revolver and didn't obey orders to leave his vehicle. Hannuksela was wanted by law enforcement on three outstanding felony warrants.
