The 26-year-old Carlton man involved in a broadside collision Wednesday in Scanlon has been upgraded to fair condition at a Duluth hospital.

Joshua Immerfall remains at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was previously in serious condition following the crash.

Immerfall was a passenger when the Ford Taurus he was traveling in was struck broadside on Minnesota Highway 45 near the Interstate 35 entrance at 6:35 p.m., the Minnesota State Patrol said previously in a news release.

All told, the two-car crash involved four people; two were taken to St. Luke’s hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the other was uninjured.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
