The public is invited to the next free talk in the Liquid Science speaker series, hosted by the University of Minnesota Sea Grant Program and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Mid-Continent Ecology Division. The talk will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. at the EPA Gitchee Gumee Conference Center, 6201 Congdon Boulevard.

Jeffrey Gunderson, assistant director of Minnesota Sea Grant, will present the final talk of the series, "Restoring Coaster Brook Trout." Gunderson will describe how coaster brook trout were nearly eliminated from Lake Superior and its tributaries by the early 1900s from human impacts. Research and history suggest that rehabilitation of this native trout will require careful planning and cooperation. Participants will learn about the biology and management of coaster brook trout, and the partnerships that are creating a future for this fish.

A reception will follow the talk. For more information, visit the Liquid Science Web site at http://www.seagrant.umn.edu/speakerseries/index.html , or contact the Minnesota Sea Grant by sending e-mail to seagr@d.umn.edu , or by phone at726-8106.
