Monday is New Year's Day. The following offices will be closed.
Open Sunday: Duluth Transit Authority or STRIDE services and the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District Materials Recovery Center will be open from noon to 3 p.m.
Closed Monday: Post offices in Duluth and Superior; Duluth city offices; St. Louis County offices; Minnesota state offices; Minnesota and Wisconsin federal offices; Wisconsin state offices; all Duluth library branches; Superior city offices; Douglas County offices; Superior library; Duluth and Superior schools and school district offices; Fond du Lac Reservation tribal offices; WLSSD facilities; and no Duluth Transit Authority or STRIDE services.
In addition, there will be no regular mail delivery or postal retail service on Tuesday.
Express Mail will be delivered, and mail will be collected from drop boxes in front of U.S. post offices and in business areas. Regular mail services will resume Wednesday.

The move is the result of President Bush's executive order directing federal government agencies to close Tuesday as a mark of respect for former President Ford, who died Tuesday.
