After recent successes achieved by the Cloquet’s Police K9 unit, the department will add a second K9 and K9 handler to the team. Calling the first team “highly successful in both narcotics and money seizures,” the department concluded a second team would benefit the agency’s mission of improving the community.
The additional unit comes after reports of rapid increases in drug trafficking coming from I-35 and the Highway-33 corridor. A second K9 unit would also provide overlap for when the current team ages out over the next five to six years.
