Meatball dinner

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1108 E. Eighth St., will serve a Swedish meatball dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children and $25 for families of four.

Lake Effects show

Superior's Bayside Baptist Church will host a performance by the Lake Effects at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7. A free-will offering will be taken. Call (715) 394-6002.

Get healthy

Hermantown Community Church, 4880 Maple Grove Road, will host a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6.

Fall carnival

Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, 1515 W. Superior St., will host a fall carnival from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Highlights include games, prizes and costume contests (for kids and adults). Free. Call 722-1928.

Big day at Our Redeemer's

Our Redeemer's Free Lutheran Church is combining a fall festival with Friendship Sunday this Sunday, Oct. 31. Other festivities include a "friendship meal" (complete with apple and pumpkin pie and bars) social event for friends and neighbors. It follows the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Extra apple and pumpkin pies and bars will also be available for purchase. Our Redeemer's is located at 2125 Missouri Ave. in the Billings Park area of Superior.

Harvest mass/feast

Holy Family Church, 2430 W. Third St., will host a harvest mass/feast at 3 p.m. Nov. 14. All are welcome.

Fall craft fair

Superior's Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 1604 Banks Ave., will host a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6. In addition to crafts, there will be a raffle, prizes, face painting and a food and bake sale.

'Harry Potter' party

Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2310 E. Fourth St., will re-create Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade for candy-grabbin' fun from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Free and open to the public. Call 724-8503.

Trunk or Treat (afternoon option)

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1108 E. Eighth St., will host Trunk or Treat from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Its parking lot will be roped off and candy will be handed out to kids from cars.

Glen Avon Church, 2105 Woodland Ave., will host Trunk or Treat from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Its parking lot will be roped off and candy will be handed out to kids from cars.

Fall fest

The Exchange Covenant Church will hold a fall festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Portman Park. In addition to games, crafts and candy for the kids, a chili dinner will be served. Free and open to the public.

Bayside's Bountiful Boutique

The Ukraine Mission Team of Bayside Baptist Church (corner of New York and Belknap in Superior) is sponsoring the sixth annual Bountiful Boutique from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 20. The group is currently seeking crafters, baker, and direct-sales representatives as vendors for this event. Table rental fee is $25. Holy Family Church, 2430 W. Third St., will host its annual harvest mass and feast at 3 p.m. Nov. 14. The meal follows the mass. All are welcome.

Church bazaar

Duluth Congregational Church, 3833 E. Superior St., will host a bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. Cost for the accompanying lunch (served at 11 a.m.) will be $6.50.

Halloween festival

Hillside Church will host its annual fall festival from 4 to 7 p.m. on Halloween at the Encounter (201 E. First St.). Scary costumes will not be allowed. Call 728-5500.

Thursday prayer group

Salem Covenant Church, 339 N. 59th Ave. W., hosts a prayer group from 9 to 10 a.m. every Thursday. It will continue to meet weekly until there are enough women to start a community Bible study class. Call 626-9133 with any questions.
