The Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Proctor, 701 Third Ave., will sponsor a day camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The day camp will also be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday. The event is for those in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. The pre-kindergarten program will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. Cost is $40 ($20 for pre-kindergarten). Against the embargo of Cuba, Tuesday, June 17
Duluth's Cuba Solidarity Committee will host a public send-off for some caravan volunteers who are heading to Cuba this summer as part of an international challenge to the 46-year U.S. embargo against the country beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the LaFayette Community Center on Park Point. Local volunteers will be joining others, who were organized by the New York-based Pastors for Peace.
