Neighborhood picnic

There will be a neighborhood picnic at Elim Lutheran Church, 6101 Cody St., from 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 4. Free food and fun for everyone.

Solemnis to play at worship service

The duo Solemnis, made up of recent East High School graduates Paul Winchester (who sings and plays piano) and Phillip Hubert (who plays clarinet and piano), will participate in the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday, July 26, at First United Methodist Church, 230 E. Skyline Parkway. The duo will also provide a short concert following worship at 11:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary. All are welcome to attend this Sunday's worship and concert.

Healing prayers and mass

There will be healing prayers and mass Monday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, 1419 Saint Benedict St., with adoration from noon to 5 p.m., confessions from 2 to 4 p.m., holy mass at 7 p.m. and individual prayers for healing following mass. Priests from Duluth and St. Cloud.

Gospel music, barbecue and more

Eagles Wings and Invite God ministries are holding a free gospel revival from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at 110 ½ E. First St. All are welcome, bring your lawn chairs. Questions or willing to help prepare for this event? Contact Sue at 207-7031.

School supplies needed

The Union Gospel Mission is in need of school supplies for the needy children in the area. Items needed include erasers, paper, notebooks, scissors, pencil boxes, markers and colored pencils and pens. To find out more, call 722-1196.

Worship in the Park

Join First Lutheran Church and their Worship in the Park services at Leif Erikson Park on Sundays in July and August at 10 a.m. Child care will be available in the church. Bring lawn chairs or blankets, in case of rain worship will be held across the street in the church.
