A 7-year-old Cloquet boy was sent to the hospital after he was bit by a dog Sunday night.
Cloquet Police Department responded to the incident around 5 p.m. The child was playing outside with neighborhood children when a bull mastiff escaped its residence and bit the child, authorities said.
The child sustained injuries to both of his legs, including a significant laceration on his right calf. The boy was transported by ambulance to a Duluth hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.
Police said the owner of the dog was cooperative with the investigation and voluntarily euthanized the dog, which police confirmed with the veterinarian’s office.
The case was sent to the city attorney’s office for review.
