Chester Creek restoration tour is set for Wednesday

The Duluth chapter of the Izaak Walton of America is sponsoring a guided tour of restoration efforts and protection plans for Chester Creek in the city.

The Duluth chapter of the Izaak Walton of America is sponsoring a guided tour of restoration efforts and protection plans for Chester Creek in the city.
The event is billed as an opportunity for the public to learn more about the post-2012 flood restoration efforts. Chris Kleist, the city of Duluth’s stormwater project coordinator, will lead the tour between Skyline Parkway and Ninth Street. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and participants can meet in the Chester Bowl parking lot.
The public also will hear more about the draft Chester Park Master Plan and the Green Infrastructure Program  underway by Minnesota Sea Grant.  This tour is part of a program to promote Climate Change Adaption being sponsored jointly by the Duluth Izaak Walton League Chapter and the St. Louis River Alliance, which is funded through grants from Freshwater Future.
