Duluth's first public disc golf course will open with a noon ceremony Monday.

The 18-hole, Miller Creek Disc Golf Course is located within a new recreational area, along Trinity Road adjacent to Lake Superior College, Enger Park Golf Course and Miller Creek.

The course was built with more than 1,500 volunteer hours as well as donated sponsorship funds and materials.

The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Department and the Recreational Disc Golf Committee volunteers are hosting Monday's grand opening.

The official "Duluth Get Out and Disc Golf" throw will take place at the first hole/basket, which is adjacent to the lower parking lot of Lake Superior College.
