St. Louis County Commission candidate Chris Dahlberg was bitten by a dog while visiting would-be voters this weekend.
Dahlberg said an off-leash pit bull bit him.
"I didn't have a chance to be scared because it was more of a surprise," he said. "The dog just came out of nowhere, lunging down there and it was almost airborne moving at me and that quick it latched around the pants and kind of ripped around the whole pants."
Dahlberg said he's worried about kids in that area of Lincoln Park/West End.
The owner of the dog, who was not identified, said the dog didn't attack Dahlberg, but admitted the dog ripped the pants of the former Duluth city councilor.

Duluth animal control officer Carrie Lane said the investigation is not yet complete. But the dog may be declared a "potentially dangerous dog," she said.
"That's putting the person on notice that there's a problem with that dog," Lane said.
Three dogs in Duluth are officially designated as "dangerous dogs," she said, although none are pit bulls. There are dozens of dogs designated as "potentially dangerous."
The city euthanized a dog for the first time in May, after a pit bull killed one dog and mauled another in a West Duluth neighborhood.
