- The Superior public market, which will be housed in a renovated building on Broadway Street and Ogden Avenue, will open its doors to Superior housewives this week. Produce grown by Douglas County farmers will be sold at the market.
- Approximately $5,000 in damage was caused by a fire last night at the Twin Ports Brass Works, on the corner of Michigan Street and Garfield Avenue. The wood frame building was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
- Superior's David Bancroft, shortstop for the New York Giants, got six base hits in six times at bat yesterday in a game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Bancroft's feat has been achieved in the major leagues only one other time since 1902.
