  • Problems with allowing carnivals to visit Duluth were discussed at yesterday's City Council meeting. W.M. Abrahamson of the Duluth Theater Managers' Association told the council that most of the carnival offerings are gambling devices, from which local sponsors get no benefits.
  • A Norwegian national custom will be revived in Duluth this Thursday when a bonfire is built near the top of the Incline Railway line as part of the Norwegian Saengerfest celebration. Fires were built in early Norway to warn settlements of approaching enemies.
  • A total of 270 students registered yesterday for the summer session of the Superior Normal School, and more are expected today. A majority of students are experienced teachers from northern Wisconsin counties who are studying modern methods of instruction.
