  • More than 200 people attending a public hearing last night in Silver Bay were told that major improvements to Highway 61 from Two Harbors to Silver Bay are at least five years away. Some temporary work will be undertaken next year, officials said.
  • An angry, disruptive crowd descended on the Duluth School Board last night with demands that student busing be restored to last year's level. The board promised to consider all complaints and to investigate the cost of restoring busing service. News Tribune
