The Minnesota delegation to the Great Lakes Commission meeting in Buffalo, N.Y., yesterday requested a bubbler system be installed in the Duluth-Superior harbor to extend the shipping season. A small bubbler system was successfully tested last winter in Duluth. News Tribune

A News Tribune poll conducted last week gives Mayor John Fedo a slight lead over challenger Gary Doty in Duluth's mayoral race. Fedo was favored by 38.6 percent of those polled and Doty by 35.7 percent, with 25.7 percent undecided.
Duluth school officials have asked the School Board to authorize a study of how the old Central High School building could be used in the future.
