Prospects for a new Arrowhead Bridge heightened last week when Congress passed a $51 billion highway bill. Local officials will begin a concerted effort this week -including possibly sending a delegation to Washington - to get funding for the proposed $58 million structure.

Former Duluthian John Dickerson, who was active in the Duluth Playhouse when he resided here, will return this week with a one-man show at the Depot Theater. Dickerson's program will include humorous readings from various authors and scenes from plays.

Oct. 22, 1998

Bob Dylan, Duluth's most famous son, will perform his first concert in his birthplace tonight when he appears at the DECC. Dylan played last night in Winnipeg and will head for Minneapolis tomorrow, where he will appear at the Target Center.

Duluth Mayor Gary Doty yesterday proposed that a majority of seats on the Duluth Economic Development Authority board of directors be reserved for Duluth city councilors. Currently, councilors fill three seats on DEDA's seven-member board.
